Camera selection

Trail cameras are available with a wide variety of features. The primary options to consider are:
- trigger speed
- infrared or standard flash
- digital vs 35 mm
- tracking information such as time, date, moon phase, temperature etc.
- communication options
For most people who do not manage deer as a profession a camera with an infrared flash and less than a one second trigger speed should suffice. Several options are availabe that meet these criteria.
